Sometimes the best days at Cuban Cracker aren’t about how many sandwiches we sell.
They’re about what happens when food, family, and community all end up at the same table.
This past Saturday, our son Richie, along with his friends Lukas and Tyler, decided to do something to support the Liberty Creek High School Theatre Department. They put together a simple fundraiser: tostadas, café con leche, and an invitation for the community to come out and support their theatre program.
Cuban Cracker Family Kitchen was proud to sponsor all of the food and coffee so that 100% of the donations could go directly toward the theatre department.

A Little Piece of Miami in Hendersonville
If you grew up around Cuban culture, you already know that tostadas and café con leche are about as simple as it gets.
Hot-pressed Cuban bread with butter. Hot milk and strong Cuban espresso.
That’s it.
But somehow, standing around with a café con leche in your hand and a piece of warm Cuban bread has always been about more than breakfast. It’s where conversations happen. It’s where you catch up. It’s where somebody inevitably starts telling a story.
Basically, chisme y café.
So watching these kids use something that means so much to our family and culture to bring people together for something they care about was pretty special.
And Then Hendersonville Showed Up
We hoped people would stop by.
They did a whole lot more than that.
Neighbors, friends, families and members of the community came through the Creekside at Station Camp community to grab breakfast, have some coffee, talk with the kids and hear about what they’re working on at Liberty Creek.
By the time it was over, Richie, Lukas and Tyler had raised more than $1,000 for their high school theatre program.
More importantly, they had an opportunity to tell people about their upcoming productions and introduce more of the community to a program they’re proud to be part of.
For a few hours, a parking lot became a little neighborhood ventanita.
And we loved every minute of it.

This Is Why We Call It a Family Kitchen
When we started Cuban Cracker, we never wanted it to just be a place that sold Cuban food.
Food was how our families gathered. Coffee was how conversations started. Feeding people was how you showed somebody you cared.
Those are the things we wanted to carry with us when we built Cuban Cracker here in Hendersonville.
Saturday felt like one of those moments when everything came full circle.
Our kids were serving food from our culture to their community to support something that matters to them.
That’s bigger than a food truck.
Thank You, Hendersonville
To everyone who stopped by, donated, grabbed a tostada, drank some café con leche, asked the kids about their shows, or simply helped spread the word:
Thank you.

You helped three high school students turn a Saturday morning idea into more than $1,000 of support for the Liberty Creek High School Theatre Department.
And to Richie, Lukas and Tyler—we’re proud of you guys.
Keep showing up.
Keep creating.
And when you need to raise a little money…
apparently café con leche works pretty well.
Nos vemos pronto,
The Cuban Cracker Family
