Our Story: From Miami Roots to Hendersonville, Tennessee

Cuban Cracker Family Kitchen is the story of two different roots coming together around food, family and community.

Vince grew up in Hialeah, Florida, surrounded by the food, music, stories and traditions of Miami’s Cuban culture. Hollie has called Hendersonville, Tennessee home since she was two years old.

What started with cooking for friends and neighbors grew into a food truck, catering, Cuban Cracker Coffee Co., and now our next chapter: a permanent Cuban restaurant in Hendersonville.

Our goal has always been bigger than serving Cuban sandwiches and cafecito. We want to share the food, traditions and hospitality Vince grew up with while building something meaningful in the community Hollie has called home for most of her life.

From the 305 to the 615

Cuban Cracker was built around two places we call home.

For Vince, Hialeah and Miami meant Cuban food, cafecito, family gatherings, music and a culture where food was always part of bringing people together.

For Hollie, Hendersonville is home. It’s where she grew up, built a life and spent most of her career before Cuban Cracker became part of the story.

Bringing those two worlds together became the heart of Cuban Cracker: a little 305, a little 615.

What began as a small idea turned into something neither of us originally planned — a family business rooted in Cuban food, coffee, culture and community.

For some people, Cuban Cracker is their first introduction to Cuban food. For others, it tastes like home.

Food Brings People Together

Some of our favorite Cuban Cracker moments have nothing to do with what happens behind the grill.

They happen when neighbors meet neighbors in line for a Cuban sandwich. When someone takes their first sip of cafecito. When a customer tells us a dish reminds them of Miami. When a family that found us at one food truck stop starts showing up again and again.

Hendersonville and Middle Tennessee embraced Cuban Cracker from the beginning, and being part of this community has become just as important to us as the food itself.

You’ll find us at neighborhood gatherings, schools, local businesses, breweries, fundraisers, festivals, weddings, corporate events and community celebrations throughout Middle Tennessee.

Wherever we serve, the goal is the same:

Good food. Good energy. A reason for people to come together.

This Wasn’t the Plan

Neither of us mapped out a future in the restaurant business.

There have been long nights, broken equipment, lessons learned the hard way, and plenty of moments when we’ve looked at each other and wondered what we got ourselves into.

But there have also been customers who became friends, opportunities we never expected, and a community that kept showing up.

Somewhere along the way, what started as a small idea became a family business with a food truck, catering, coffee and a restaurant on the horizon.

We’re still figuring it out as we go.

And maybe that’s part of what makes the story worth telling.

This wasn’t the plan. And we’re just getting started.
